Caching in the Snow

It's been a tough year for caching so far. As the graphic below from a local news station shows, Northeast Ohio beat a February record for cold weather which had stood since 1875. An average temperature of 14 degrees and a snowfall running 27% above average have kept us off the geocaching trails and indoors much more than we wanted. Our 112 finds over the two months was the fourth lowest total of our years of caching.

Our caching journeys in the snow included a visit to Chapman State Park where the snow was piled high on the picnic tables in the campground.

Each snowy cache find gets one step closer to spring.

This was Lizzie's first winter of caching with us. She does not like colder temps in the mid-20's and below, but seems unbothered by the snow.

For having short fur and a light coat, Phineas seems happy to be caching in any weather. He spends most of these caching journeys searching for bunnies and other four-legged treasures.
