Thoughts on Planetary Pursuit

It seems like Geocaching's limited-time souvenir hunt is working. I've seen new logs from cachers I had assumed left the game. Hopefully they will remember how much fun geocaching is and keep hunting caches. Kudos to the Geocaching HQ team for what appears to be a winner.

Is it me or does anyone else think the points for the last two souvenirs are a little strange? I was surprised to realize the last two souvenirs require 500 points instead of 400 for Pluto and 500 for the Official Space Explorer.

We have 310 points with ten days left. With super weather for a holiday weekend, we would make 500 points without a thought. With rain and colder temperatures, finishing the challenge will take more effort.

We were lucky this past weekend and were able to enjoy a cold but sunny day on the Western Reserve Greenway Trail. Ashtabula usually gets blasted with rough weather and conditions that can make cache maintenance a challenge, but the dedicated hiders that placed and maintain the many caches along the WRGT keep the caches in good condition and ready for visitors.

Our day on the trail was worth 108 Planetary Pursuit points. The time together was priceless.

190 more points to go with ten days left... It will be a journey, but all of our geocaching outings are a part of our journey.
